About Me

Roman Robertson is a queer, neurodivergent author and poet from Kalamazoo, Michigan. They've received a bachelor's in English from Western Michigan University where they were on the honor roll for four consecutive semesters. As an undergraduate student, they received the Gwen Frostic Creative Writing Award for Fiction for the first time in 2020, and again in 2023 and 2024. Roman also received the Gwen Frostic Award for Poetry in 2023 and 2024.

My Work

Roman Robertson's work has been published in multiple collections both online and in print including GNU Journal, Seven Circles Press, Atomic Flyswatter, You Might Need to Hear This, and Flexible Press. Their poems cover everything from commitment issues to mental hospital vacations, from gender dysphoria to the loss of childhood innocence, from autistic social stumbles to eating disorder behaviors. They have worked as a landscaper, summer camp counselor, dance instructor, delivery driver and other odd jobs while pursuing their passion of writing.
